Follow @Colleen_Martin_Artist for new paintings firstI'm a self-taught artist living in the South West of Western Australia, surrounded by farms, forests and the beach, and painting has become the way I found my way back to myself. A few years ago I left a marriage of almost twenty years and trusted my own intuition to make that break, and in the unravelling that followed I picked up a paintbrush and found something I hadn't expected — a place where I could be honest, where the fear I was carrying and the joy I was chasing could both show up on the same canvas. Some of my best moments are found on long walks around Harvey Dam, or lounging in the sun in my garden like a lizard, and both of those quiet, ordinary moments end up in my paintings somehow, catching an emotional truth before it slips away, and the surprise and elation of watching something come through me that I didn't fully plan.
There's a deep, restful presence I'm always trying to hold in my paintings — that feeling of being drawn into the ethereal, expansive quiet of a landscape, and then slowly noticing the small dance of light and energy moving through it, swaying grasses, vivid pops of flowers, the flicker of reflections on water. I'm drawn again and again to light and colour — the way sunlight catches on sand, on leaves, on water, on rust and fungi and glass, the slow transformation from warm to cool, the sparkle in the small details most people walk straight past — and underneath all of that there's a personal journey too, a truth-seeking, a moving from darkness into light, a making of space for reflection, healing and growth. Light represents clarity, hope and spaciousness; dark offers depth, presence and a rich grounding, and each painting is my way of holding both at once.
My art is for collectors drawn to simple shapes and light-filled, richly coloured landscapes with texture that begs to be touched — sensory people whose homes are simple and uncluttered, but full of treasured things. I want a painting to be the spot in the room you sink into to rest and recharge, a vast, warm, gently lit landscape that holds you like sunshine or a blanket, until you notice the smaller magic within it: a flurry of wings, a leaf backlit by sun. If it finds its way onto your wall, I hope it becomes more than decoration — a small, daily reminder that you are free too, free to feel, free to transform, free to come home to yourself, the way painting brought me home to mine. My hope is simple: that it makes you stop, and rest, and have a little dream.
My exploration of the way light and colour reflect across landscapes — from tight, joyous early work into looser, more abstract marks and shapes, with little strokes of colour standing in for flowers, leaves and water.

Prints are luxury. Since much of my work has been made on small canvases, an enlarged print is often the best way to let a piece really shine. All prints are unframed — A4 and A3 are printed and posted by me personally, and larger A2, A1 and A0 sizes are fulfilled by a print partner.

I paint your commission by hand in the studio, with progress photos along the way, ready to hang once complete.
Commissions typically start from: 12 x 12 in — $150 · 12 x 16 in — $350 · 16 x 20 in — $520 · 30 x 40 in — $1,600 · 36 x 48 in — $1,800. Final pricing depends on detail and complexity.
Enquire About a CommissionIf you're furnishing a home, a boutique hotel, or a whole run of guest rooms, I'd love to be part of it. I can work with you on volume, on scale, and on colour, so the art feels like it was always meant to be there rather than added at the end.
A trade discount applies from 5 pieces, with tiered pricing for larger hospitality rollouts. I can supply matching or complementary works across multiple rooms, corridors, or a whole property.
Originals and prints can be made to fit a specific wall or brief — sized to spec, and tuned to your existing colour palette, materials, or brand story.
I'll confirm a realistic timeline before you commit, and can arrange framing, protective packing, and freight or local delivery for larger or multi-piece orders.
For hotels and hospitality fit-outs needing the same artwork across many rooms, I offer licensed print reproduction with clear terms, rather than treating every wall as a one-off sale.
Ongoing trade accounts with invoicing terms are available for designers and procurement teams working across multiple projects — just ask when you get in touch.
I can generate styled room mockups of any piece in your own colour scheme, so you can present it to a client or stakeholder before it's ordered or hung.
